Bobbi Brown - Sterling Nights Eye palette Haul & Review

Did I really?!
My most expensive high end purchase ever and so worth it! In Autumn last year I had been searching for a new eye shadow palette with easy daily colors. I was looking round what my fav Youtubers used and found that Anna Saconne had this palette from Bobbi Brown (which is long gone). But as I looked at that old palette I remembered that Robin (Dutch) was always quite pleased with Bobbi Brown's quality. So later in December when this Sterling Nights eye palette came out, it was love at first sight!

The box
It comes in a pretty fat & sturdy box. I was quite surprised with the size, since it wasn't sold in an actually shop. I had ordered it online in my local Douglas store and let it delivery to that store too. To not risk them blaming me if an eye shadow would be broken by travel. But all was well and pretty!

The packaging
The size of the palette is 9.4cm x 8cm x 2cm. Also I've noticed how heavy it weights in your hands. The palette weights 177g and the Urban Decay Naked palette I own weights only 156g. The packaging feels like high quality material. It has a strong magnet to close it, and the lowest open position is 1cm before it closes by itself. Also this palette doesn't come with useless space for useless basic tools you will never use. It's all eye shadow with one big all mirror! Perfect design!

Bobbi Brown - Sterling Nights Eye palette
$75.00 / 18.5g / Link to product
Inspired by star-studded skies, the nine shadows in this sleek palette range from matte neutrals to rich, sparkle-infused hues for brilliant dimension. The embossed black compact closes with a magnetic clasp and includes a large mirror for flawless application. And-selected by Bobbi, this palette pairs iconic neutrals with light-reflecting metallics and pearl-infused shimmery shades. Mix and match these complementary hues to create a classic Bobbi eye, a nude smokey eye or a bold, standout look. The silky powder formulas go on smoothly without creasing, flaking or fading.
How to use
Use an angled eye shadow brush to apply eye shadow in 'ivory' from lash line to brow bone. Next, apply any of the medium shadows all over lid. Blend in any of the metallic or shimmery shades on top. To line eyes, use an eye liner brush to apply eye shadow in 'caviar' along the lash line in short, even strokes.

Flip the shadows & coins and decide...
This palette has 18.5g of eye shadow in it divided in 9 colors. So that is 2.05g for each color and that means 1 color costs $8.33. So let's compare that to one of my other palette; Urban Decay Naked palette ($54.00). You get 12x 1.3g which costs $4.50 for each color. But 12x 1.3g = 15.6g... So $54.00 / 15.6g x 18.5g = $64.03. So Bobbi Brown is only $10.97 more expensive if you see it like this. Then there is the question you should ask yourself: (Urban Decay) do you want more colors to play in a short run or (Bobbi Brown) play longer with your daily favorites? To answer that question for yourself will help you find the kind of palette that is right for you (or get them both, lol).

On the eyes
This is my first look I've made with this palette; just playing around and didn't follow the "rules". I didn't applied a base simply because I forgot. As eyeshadow base color I've applied the Pink Moonlight color, Then in my crease the Smoke color. Then in my inner corner and tear duct I've applied Moon Glow, in the middle of my lower lash towards my outer corner I've applied Pink Moonlight again. Then on my upper lash line and lower lash line in the outer corner I've applied softly the Midnight color. As last with a fluffy eye shadow blending brush I'm applied lightly the Pewter color. Then eyeliner on my upper waterline and outer corner of my lower lash line and mascara.

Overall thoughts on this palette
To complete it, next time I should put more makeup on my face to make a selfie haha. I kind of only did my eyes lol, My lips are so red because they are super dry and irritated by the winter weather. Since I've took these pictures at the end of December and in the beginning of January. But I've been using this palette so often and still. It's this palette or some pink en dark berry mono colors from Etude House & Innisfree if I want to change it up. This was my first look, but ever since so many new looks have been created. It's really fun to play around with it and it looks always fabulous! I love that the colors are very neutral and still so special. At first I was afraid this palette might be to cool for my skintone, but it's really perfect. The colors really matches my "Sterling Grey" obsession and also my Uggs. It's also perfect for sweet warmer toned outfits, looks and weather! I honestly love it so much and it's really worth every cent!

Gifts
I've ordered this online at Douglas when I also got this nail polish, I had to pay for the nail polish and the palette upfront. Because of that I had spend more than €50,00 and so I got 1 Starskin mask... Then a day later when I picked up my ordered palette, in the box was another Starkin mask since that order was through internet, that had the same deal :D.

I hope you've enjoyed this post and found it helpful.
See you in my next one!
